Bah…Humbug!

Right after Thanksgiving, it becomes Muppet Season.

The Holidays are Muppet time for me - John Denver & the Muppets’ Christmas album is a special kind of nostalgia button that sends me back to long car rides to Kalamazoo, caroling loudly with family and playing Sonic the Hedgehog while nibbling apple spice and snickerdoodle cookies.
And of all of the gifts that Michael Caine has given us over the years, nothing comes close to the sheer talent in his grimly committed performance of Ebenezer Scrooge, surrounded by dancing mice and cabbages.

Look - the holidays have become a lot of things and most have nothing to do with peace love and brotherhood. But there are some things about this time of the year that are worth holding dear. Muppets and the smell of snickerdoodles by a fire will always overcome any humbug in my heart and remind me to call up my people and hug my loved ones a little closer.
